FRIDAY 12 JUNE WAS A DAY OF VICTORY FOR ALISON AND I AND GLORY TO GOD - A MIRACLE.
Any healing through the prayer of faith glorifies our Maker and is the "evidence of things unseen". We all need this evidence to build faith on - without it, " it is impossible to please God", Paul testifies and we should know! On Ian Turton's visit 13 - 14 March the truths we believed ' nothing doubting' were renewed within us. It was not impossible that the cancer cells in eight biopsies would wither and die along with their growing cancerous brethren.
Even though my PSA reading remained dangerously high for the next two months, we kept our faith strong agreeing together in prayer. Alison spent days our at a beach Ron Broughton kindly made available, just with the Lord. The wonderful support of praying friends and family encouraged us - Lida, Stewart and Margaaret, Dave and Norma,Joan and Julie and many unknown to us. You loving Christian friends, how much we owe to you. Here was proof of the great love in church you made available. Bless you - we encourage you.In just 54 days, the level of "specific prostrate antigen (PSA ) dropped from 61.3 on Feb 3 to 58.2 on April 20 to PSA 0.02 in mid June. We'd learnt that a healthy prostrate was around PSA 1 - 5.5 and mine was around 17 in May last year. Keeping in touch with the urologist on the blood test result, this is the conversation which took place on Friday 12th June:
Trevor " Have you got the result from the lab. yet?" Dr. " Yes, it's very low 0.02 - that's good, we were getting nowhere. Carry on with the medication. What are you taking?" Trevor " I'm taking nothing"
Breaking the sad news at the time of the biopsy result the Dr had said " You have two, maybe three years" made us recall " God had not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind" also "cast not away your confidence which has great recompense of reward" and the phrase Clark Taylor taught his congregation to build their faith " I am being raised from the dead to the Glory of the Father"
So as the appearance of the gold dust, fleeting like snow flakes among the gathering of believers splits that gathering in wonder or doubt, let us remember Thomas, Peter and those little words, " nothing doubting" " It's a wonder " said Ian. You bet! As Alison pondered, it showed a God so in charge of the universe, He can create gold out of nothing. So what's the difference of a cursed fig tree, or a cursed cancer cell? Trevor Sanson
