It is vital to do more than perceive what God is doing.

I hear constantly people & ministers saying that they are really desiring these things but the question is not are they perceiving but actually what are they going to do about it.

The Lord gave Jeannette and I a choice a couple of years ago while leading a Church we had taken over to either keep the Church heading in the same direction it had been going in or do it ‘His way’. (whatever that meant He didn’t say at the time)

Well there wasn’t much of a choice – a comfortable, well paid position in a ‘nice’ Church with a lovely bunch of people who loved fellowshipping – with a brand new car every year etc – or do it ‘His way’. Hmmmm. It was sort of a stacked choice – intimating that the first choice was not His way.

We heard Him say ‘get out of the boat’ – what we didn’t hear was ‘why’.

When we made the choice to do it ‘His way’ he then proceeded to show us what ‘His way’ was – to lead the Church into being a Holy Ghost Church (by the way we were already a Pentecostal church).

We perceived & then obediently started to steer the church into the things of the Spirit. – Then wham – hell broke out. We hit the biggest storm of our lives, which is a story in its self, but to summarize – it nearly killed us.

You see when we step out of the boat - so often it’s not just that we walk on water by faith.

But something happens – we don't see it as we step over the side. - we are immediately confronted by a storm, waves & all.

  • There are those that will not get out of the boat – they talk about it, but never do it.
James 1:22 (NKJV) 22But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (This entails not only the written word but the revealed word of the Lord also.)

  • There are those who get out of the boat but hang on to the side & immediately get hit by the storm & are thrown back into the boat. (back to the old ways - comfort, security etc)

  • Then there are those who get out of the boat – actually walk on water but because of the storm they look around at the circumstances & begin to sink.

  • Then there are those who get out of the boat, walk on water, weather the storm & breakthrough in victory.

Wow - Lord let us get out of the boat & break through the storm.

Maybe you want to transition your life or your Church into the things of the Spirit - it will cost & you will have to leave your comfort zone - He has called us to Christianity not comfyanity.

I want to encourage you - GET OUT OF THE BOAT.

Our desire is to help people transition their lives & ministries & to help when the storm hits. If we can help you please let us know -

Be Blessed

Ian & Jeannette
