Isa. 43:18-19 (NCV) 18 The LORD says, “Forget what happened before, and do not think about the past. 19 Look at the new thing I am going to do. It is already happening. Don’t you see it? (NIV) do you not perceive it?
There is a perceiving in the body today that God is doing a new thing.
God wants the supernatural to be natural for every believer!
We need a supernatural insight into the times and seasons.
We too can hear from heaven and know God's mind in this hour—it's time for us to live in the supernatural !
Today there is a
lack of Spirit Led Leadership. Most of the leadership training employed by
Churches today is corporate leadership training. Now before we tackle this at the heart I would
like to lay a premise of understanding of what I believe the term ‘spirit led
leadership’ is.
Firstly most would
agree that a person can baptized in the Holy Ghost without necessarily being
‘filled’. It is not the way it should be, but non the less is true.
In fact some would argue that you can be filled with the Holy Ghost without ever operating in any of the gifts of the Spirit.
With this premise, that is incorrect, people can also say that if a person is baptized in the Holy Ghost they must be led by the Spirit.
The premise some
adhere to is this – you can say you are baptized in the Holy Ghost meaning ‘filled’
without any external evidence, just because they say they are.
My premise is this:-
not everyone that says they are baptized, filled with the Holy Ghost are. In
fact I would go one step further & say not everyone that speaks in tongues
is spirit led. Just because you are born of the Spirit does not mean you are
led by the Spirit.
So what is ‘Spirit
led’ – it is just that, people that are led of the spirit.
Before we can be led by the spirit we must first want His will to be done – not our own. It is where people seek His will, & then seek to do it – His way.
Lets go one step
further Jesus actually said
Matt 7:21 - 22 (NLT) 21“Not all people who sound
religious are really godly. They may refer to me as ‘Lord,’ but they still
won’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The decisive issue is
whether they obey my Father in heaven. 22On judgment day many
will tell me, ‘Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in
your name and performed many miracles in your name.’
So what is the issue
here – the heart of the person. Did that person obey the Father. Was He led of
the Spirit.
Being spirit led is
simply hearing what He says & doing it.
If you want to
evaluate whether you are truly spirit led, it is not whether you think you are filled with the spirit or
even that you are operating in the gifts. It is - am I obeying my Fathers
voice.
My premise is this
we must be baptized in the Holy Ghost & there must be evidence of this by
external signs. There must be the supernatural on my life BUT – it has to be
out of a right spirit. How do I know I have a right spirit – what is my
motivation of what I do. Why am I doing what I am doing? If there is pride,
recognition, achievement, prominence, ambition or anything else then obviously
we have a wrong heart. A right heart is being a humble servant leader.
What I mean by
corporate leadership training is this:- Training people to be leaders by
following principles, procedures & practices at the expense of His
presence, power & purpose.
We have trained
Christian leaders that if you follow certain principles you become a great
leader. There are certain procedures, practices or patterns that if you follow
them you become a great leader.
I have sat in leadership
conferences where some of the speakers that are teaching Christian leaders to
be leaders – never mention Jesus. They never even mention the power of the Holy
Ghost.
I have heard people
say the church is going to be built on strong leadership.
I have heard little sayings like ‘leaders are readers’, ‘Leaders change the world’,
If you learn the 21
laws of leadership you will become a cutting edge leader.
While it is
important to know principles of leadership in a corporate sense leadership
training should never be just that — We desire to equip leaders in the things
of the Spirit, to be effective in their ministry as Spirit Led Leaders.
Jesus said I will
build my church. He didn’t say the leaders will build my church. We do not need
corporate giants building organizations with the name of Jesus merely being a
stamp of approval.
Much is taught about
Joshua as a model leader, dissecting his leadership traits but the bible
clearly states why Joshua was a great leader. Joshua became Moses’ successor.
He was in charge of taking the Children of Israel into the Promised Land. How
was he prepared by the Lord for this mammoth task? He spent forty years in the
secret place — in the Lord’s immediate, manifest presence, while in the
wilderness! When Moses met the Lord in the Tent of Meeting, Joshua would stay
around the tent and linger in the Presence because he loved the glory. Ex.
33:11b says, “Moses’ young aide, Joshua, … did not leave the tent.”
Numbers 27:18 refers to Joshua as
one, “… in whom the Spirit dwelt.”
Could it be that this was the reason for Joshua’s great leadership skills, he learnt to be Spirit led. God wants the supernatural to be natural for every believer!
Just as the sons of Issachar had supernatural insight into the times and seasons, we too can hear from heaven and know God's mind in this hour—it's time for us to live in the supernatural !
