Spirit People

Just as we have physical gifts like tennis, golf or making things.

And also Soul gifts - music, intellectual qualities, or a combination of both eg Art.

Then there are spiritual gifts.

God wants us to be spiritual people.

John 4:24 (KJV) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

We are a tri-part being. Just like God.

God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit.

1 John 5:7 (NKJV) 7For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

To help understand the three fold nature of God you can think about water. This one substance can take three different forms – solid (ice), liquid (Water) & vapor (steam) yet it is the same. God’s composition is Father, Son & Holy Spirit yet He is One.

Col. 2:13 (NCV) 13When you were spiritually dead because of your sins and because you were not free from the power of your sinful self, God made you alive with Christ, and he forgave all our sins.

We were dead spiritually. - now I am alive. I was once dead spiritually but now I am born again & I need to 'learn' how to walk & live in the spirit.

Many Christians get saved but never develop spiritually they are 'in the politically correct term' spiritually impaired.

They never develop spiritually they just stay the same drawing on their physical or soulish past.

Man is a spirit who lives in a body & possesses a soul.

1 Thess. 5:23 (TLB) 23May the God of peace himself make you entirely pure and devoted to God; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept strong and blameless until that day when our Lord Jesus Christ comes back again.

Fallen man operates out of a fallen nature, but the spiritual man operates out of a new nature. (a spiritual nature)

Prov. 20:27 (NKJV) The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.

The spirit of man is God’s contact point. Without God, our spirit is powerless, like a flat battery. The Holy Spirit is God’s power who charges our battery, illuminating man’s spirit & setting it alight.

Just as the body has five natural senses feel, taste, see, hear & smell, the spiritual senses can be developed so that our spirit man can feel, taste, see, hear & smell in the spiritual realm.

Psa. 34:8 (NIV) Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

There are two ways to communicate with the spirit realm. Either through being born again of God’s spirit which leads to life or through the occult & demonic spirits which leads to death.

Acts 1:8 (TLB) 8But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power to testify about me with great effect, to the people in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, about my death and resurrection.”

Gal. 5:16 (KJV) 16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Gal. 5:16 (NLT) 16So I advise you to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

Gal. 5:25 (TLB) 25If we are living now by the Holy Spirit’s power, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

Eph. 4:23 (KJV) 23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Phil. 3:3 (NASB) 3for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh,
